MINORITY REPORT Friday December 18 8pm @ Subrosa

Santa Cruz Guerilla Drive-In presents

MINORITY REPORT

Friday December 18th 8pm
At Subrosa, 703 Pacific Avenue

Recently, there have been some high profile incidents of violence in Santa Cruz. Concerned citizens have rallied around the cause of "Take Back Santa Cruz", calling for increased surveillance of public places and tougher policing to "rid the town of undesirables." This Steve Spielberg thriller, based on the short story by Philip K. Dick, reminds us of the dangers of inviting an all-seeing government to monitor every action of our lives and of the risks of arresting people for a crime they have yet to commit.

This screening will include a post-film discussion of local issues and possible approaches.

In the year 2054, in Washington, D.C., murder has been eliminated thanks to Pre-crime, a program that uses the visions of three psychics to arrest and imprison would-be murderers before they have a chance to kill. When a Pre-crime enforcer finds himself accused of the future murder of a man he's never met, his faith in Pre-crime is instantly shaken.

Plus thrilling and funny short films, an intermission, great company and a guaranteed good time!

Bring anything you need to be comfortable, friends, snacks to share. Donations to support the project are more than welcome.
