[guerilla-drive-in] Hopium: Confronting Fascism in the Obama Era Fri. May 29th at SubRosa

An evening of radical films with subMedia's Franklin Lopez
aka the stimulator

Friday May 29th, 8pm at SubRosa, 703 N. Pacific Ave.
$5-$10 suggested donation (no one turned away)

An evening of radical films including:

-Excerpts from a film in production called "END:CIV.
END:CIV is the first feature film to analyze our culture's addiction to systemic violence, industrial capitalism and environmental exploitation, as evidenced by the current epidemic of poisoned landscapes and shell-shocked nations. Based on the best-selling book by Derrick Jensen, and the runaway success of director Franklin Lopez, END:CIV asks:  if your homeland was invaded by aliens who cut down the forests, poisoned the water and air, and contaminated the food supply, would you resist?  This showing is also a fund raiser for continued production of this project.

A video report on the protests that occurred in connection with the Democrat and Republican National Conventions.  Ground Noise & Static is a manifesto. We went to Denver and St. Paul to take the pulse of the movement. Corporate media would cover the platitudes and posturing of the politicians, we were interested in something else, a story hidden in plain sight, captured in the now-classic street chant, "This is what democracy looks like."
-Plus other short films and mashups, including excerpts from the radio/web/TV show
"It's the End of the World as We Know It and I Feel Fine".

Please join subMedia founder, director and producer Franklin
(aka The Stimulator) as he steps out from behind the
talking boxes to
tour us through a video montage of his
latest works, mixing culture
jamming, news, radical
commentary, music and action.
